Putting SOME number out there

As of now, I'm going to charge $6/hour with Viglo. The number is slightly arbitrary since I've done very little calculations to decide what I need to do to cover developer costs, Guide costs, marketing, and maybe some profit (hard to say at what point my thousands of dollars that I've put into Viglo will see returns). Though this is a semi-arbitrary number, I know that my business mentor would encourage me to just put some amount of money out there and see how people react. They'll either not pay it, at which case I know I'm either charging too much or Viglo isn't a good enough product; or I am getting customers quickly and will know that I can raise my prices. I'll finally get some data about how the public perceives the value of Viglo.
It feels good just to have ANY number at this point because now I can more easily get working on my marketing plans, knowing how much I hope to earn back when I acquire the students. I have been sitting on a plan for promoting Viglo to freelancers, but I kept stalling because I tell myself that I'll do some calculations later. But since I'm still working ridiculous hours on the boats, that's not going to happen anytime soon. So just picking a number will finally remove a self-imposed obstacle to progress.
